As you can see, we're keeping our "fine print" the same size as the rest of our pertinent information. That's because we want everyone who is interested in receiving our financial assistance to know that we have absolutely no hidden costs, requirements, or stipulations whatsoever. In fact, we want you to know as much as possible about every aspect of our program so that you and your family may make an informed decision together.
- Depending on your state of residence, annual percentage rates ("APR") on advanced funds range from 13% to 17%. A 3.0% Fifth Season origination fee on the face amount of your policy will be charged to your account. Your costs are fully disclosed and agreed upon beforehand, and are fairly priced and subject to regulation by your state consumer finance laws and consumer protection agencies.
- Fifth Season LILOC's are available in most states.
- Fifth Season LILOC's are not Viatical Settlements or Life Settlements (the outright sale of your life insurance policy). Our financial assistance is structured as a line of credit against your life insurance policy and is completely unique, offering significant benefits to you and your family.
- The actual amount of financial assistance made available by Fifth Season is based upon several factors: (1) the size of the life insurance policy; (2) the expertly-determined remaining life expectancy of the insured; and (3) policy premiums payable by Fifth Season in the future.
- Remaining projected life expectancy of five years or less is required to establish eligibility for a Fifth Season LILOC.
- Independent physicians specializing in oncology work closely with Fifth Season to review your medical records (no physical examination required) and to confidentially establish probable remaining life expectancy (statistically expressed for a large class of cancer patients who share a similar medical profile).
- Depending upon projected remaining life expectancy, the amount of financial assistance which Fifth Season may offer is generally between 35% and 75% of your life insurance policy's face amount.
- All information concerning you and your medical condition will remain strictly confidential. Fifth Season never shares or sells any information related to its customers to any third-party, and our privacy policies are HIPAA compliant.
- If you encounter more rapid disease progression than originally determined, the amount of your financial assistance may be increased. If your cancer stabilizes and your condition unexpectedly improves, or you are cured, there is no penalty and your Fifth Season LILOC is not affected.
- There are several requirements regarding your life insurance policy's eligibility. The policy must be issued by a life insurance company that has a high claims paying or solvency rating (most qualify in this regard). The policy must be assignable and incontestible (more than two years old in most instances). Your policy need not have any "cash surrender value." Group coverage and individual term policies are usually acceptable.
- Cancers that are life-limiting and recurrent or have distant metastases, generally speaking, suggest medical eligibility for a Fifth Season LILOC.
- Certain non-metastatic cancers also may qualify.
